Replying To uibhfhaili1986:  "I don't think they have , most people acknowledge the team of the 00's played excellent football.

People in Tyrone are just too sensitive about any criticism of their team that's all."
tyrone were constantly begrudged dont pretend otherwise..

Replying To uibhfhaili1986:  "Tyrone were hyped up by the media and it had a lot of people convinced they had a genuine chance of beating Dublin.

The only way to have a chance against Dublin is to be positive , they've worked out the blanket defence by now and I did say that before the game that Dublin would be praying Tyrone play ultra defensively and sadly they did."
by positive how do you mean?..you realise tyrone havent the forwards to compete with dublin..again i ask you what do you suggest they should have done differently?..this dublin side is way more well rounded than the one donegal exposed a few years ago..the odds pre match speak for themselves...stop trying to act superior...keep up with the criticisms and hot takes though...everything is either 'positive or negative'..no actual details of what this may entail or how it would have worked...if tyrone went man on man against dublin they would have been blown off the park..look at the number of goal chances we created in the second half alone

Seriously, does anybody really listen to what Babs has to say?

Poor form. It just goes to prove the old saying, "Form is temporary class ( or lack of it) is permanent".

Listen but ignore.Waterford though should be more offensive than McGrath has them playing. They have quality players and should be afraid of nobody 15 on 15.

Babs had his day in the sun. His views are like an auld fella in the corner of the pub giving out to the young fella's and how things are different in his day.
Irrelevant is Babs.

McGrath is a great manager. He's a young team barring Brick and Moran. He's got them competitive and now needs to tweek his system very slightly, not throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Babs is Babs, always loves attention and plenty of ego.

However at the back of it all i have time for him. He led his 1980s/1990s team up to Tony Keady's funeral.

All of us as we get older like to think things were better in our day and try to stay relevant. I wonder at headlines being taken out of context too.

I see one on Hoganstand today 'DJ peeved as minor celebrations steal Jubilee team's limelight'. To read the headline you'd think Dj was jealous of Galway minors and self important. He merely pointed out that the minors should be allowed their moment in the limelight when they won their match and the Jubilee team presented at half time in the senior to prevent neither team getting to celebrate properly.

But the us of the word 'peeved' is totally misleading if you didn't read the article.

Bab's Keating is controversial for the sake of it. It's amusing to think that he actually belives his opinion counts. I don't remember him every saying too many kind words about too many people. Perhaps the fact that Willie Murphy hurled him out of it in the 1968 All Ireland final and that Babs never got over it has something to do with his attitude.

On a different note, how did he get away with the bare feet. I don't know whether i could resist the temptation for a few accidental 'taps'!!

Babs when asked or not has always given his opinion straight up and sometimes you would wonder has he given thought to what he wants to say and how he wants to say it!!!

I think Babs likes to give his opinion and he is entitles to it but I think very few would agree with him on McGrath. The Waterford team and its style of play has been different but it has worked, losing to Kilkenny last year by the narrowest of margins after two epics, beating them this year, getting past a refreshed Cork , losing yesterday by a few points to the favourites... little wrong with McGrath's tactics. Yes, it is a different approach but it has almost yielded an All Ireland.
A few tweaks here and there and I think Waterford will be a stronger proposition for all teams next year.
Hurt is a fierce driver and the hurt of losing yesterday could be the ultimate weapon to drive on the team... could be... would Babs like to take on the Deise now... or is McGrath the right man for that job. My vote is with the latter.

It's tough being a forward in his system. I think he also needs to give Gleeson an extended run in a settled position to help him develop discipline, spacial awareness and teamwork. He is a fantastic talent but appears lost at times as he is shunted about from 'pillar to post'. It would be an awful pity, and Waterford's loss, if he was not helped to develop his amazing potential.

Babs did a lot to restore pride in Tipp hurling, helped to end the post '71 famine.
He is entitled to give an opinion on the shortcomings of Waterford tactics but most Tipp fans would not want to be associated with the personally abusive nature of his article directed at a decent, genuine coach.
Reminded me of Ger Loughnane's outrageous comments about Michael Donoghue and 'gutless Galway' last year. Their response was dignified and they answered in the best possible way in Croke Park last Sunday. Was hoping that Michael Lyster or Cyril Farrell would drop him a gentle reminder during the post match analysis.
