I'll admit, it's a bit of an attention grabbing headline, but hear me out. . cavanman47 (Cavan) - Posts: 4977 - 31/08/2017 20:03:51 2041311 Link 1 |
Wouldnt put it past the powers that be. More money from fans. Anyway, dont like that idea at all, i think it will take something away from the buzz of the final knowing that likely until the last game or two that youre still in contention.

I don't know if that's a great idea but I've heard worse. A lot worse. GreenandRed (Mayo) - Posts: 7290 - 31/08/2017 20:20:24 2041320 Link 0 |
Interesting concept , but I think the nock on effect on other games especially club games would be detremental. This system works great in the NHL playoffs but teams don't have a club structure to deal with, also a lot of these games are sometimes played within 2/3 days of each other, amateur players could not be expected to do that. Would be great for entertainment. But there are club matches that have to be played, which in my opinion should be the number one priority for the GAA. oakleafersir (Derry) - Posts: 808 - 31/08/2017 21:42:36 2041373 Link 1 |
So most responses bring up the issue of delaying club games. cavanman47 (Cavan) - Posts: 4977 - 31/08/2017 22:01:13 2041384 Link 0 |
No chance of that being passed Dublin don't play away from Croke Park rahillyman (Tyrone) - Posts: 314 - 31/08/2017 22:30:08 2041399 Link 5 |
Interesting viewpoint. Could never see the Final/Finals/Series being taken out of Croker. The Corporate affect alone would be too significant. There's also the limitation of some home grounds - We'd be screwed for one! 11.5K capacity in Cusack Park Ban (Westmeath) - Posts: 1410 - 31/08/2017 22:55:04 2041411 Link 0 |

knowing Mayo they'll need a replay for every game. we could end up with 10 finals SaffronDon (Antrim) - Posts: 2385 - 01/09/2017 00:45:06 2041440 Link 0 |
The beauty of having a final (as opposed) to a series is that it's all on the day. If GAA went fully professional then you could propose this but until then no way. keeper7 (Longford) - Posts: 4088 - 01/09/2017 01:50:48 2041446 Link 0 |

We need a system where anybody who attends National League games and Provincial Championship games are entitled to All Ireland final tickets, regardless of whether they are a season ticket holder or club member. It's shocking how many people get All Ireland final tickets who have failed to attend games all year. GaryMc82 (Derry) - Posts: 3017 - 02/09/2017 15:54:00 2041839 Link 0 |
