Replying To Marse:  "Was it called "fill the hill" by any chance? It does sound like a bit if a campaign, although not to the extent I made it out to be in My earlier post."
Why should any other county not get Hill tickets.

Replying To ROS1:  "You are a very touchy sort. I will indeed support my county as always but unlike you i will not stop supporting them if the are a couple of points down. I have gone to a number of dublin games as a neutral to see a truly class team so if I hated the dubs that would be a foolish thing to do. I main point was if your minor team whether you are from Dublin or any county are in a close enough all ireland semi final and you either don't bother turning up or don't bother supporting them then you are not a good supporter of your county."
You make no point, but thanks for your input. You really do like the dubs!!!! I'm sure as I said in my very first post you have an intimate knowledge of every Dublin supporter and his thoughts on any particular day. That and the fact you take what you want from a post, No matter what it says. Going quiet is not supporting your team now? Ok , if you say so. Well i could say your team certainly felt no support in March playing us and when Mayo saw you off. But that is just becoming more like you. As that is type of person most decent fans hate , I won't go there.

Did I say they shouldn't?

I'm not in favour of a large amount of GAA delegates and officials all around the Country getting All Ireland tickets, while the fans of competing Counties have to scrounge to get them. Surely there are other ways to compensate such people, and the ticket allocation for the Minor's is particularly poor.

Replying To Marse:  "Anyone that knows anything about the game could see the Dublin minors were not going to win that game, close or not. Don't give me that crap, I've been at many the Dublin match where you would have thought there were no opposition fans in the ground until they got Into the game. If we only supported our teams when they win, there wouldn't have been alot of us in croker between 1995 and 2011 ( apart from Leinster)."
I remember being at a Cork v Mayo and Dublin v Donegal double header q final in 2002.
Didn't sell out, no bother get tickets then.
Being a Dubs fan, or Mayo or Donegal was not so fashionable then.

Successful teams get plenty Badwagoners.
I see plenty people from my own county who claim to be big GAA fans who never kicked an O Neills in their lives.

Good point. While ye have good support relatively speaking I am convinced that much of your fanbase love this particular team more so than previous Mayo teams. Every county has bandwagoners. League is probably best indicator of true fans. Sure I remember at times our league support was nearly as big as our championsip support in the pre '98 days. in other words we have a decent core but really need to have a good team to attract the marginal fan.

While I'll agree with your assessment on the bandwagoners jumping on board the last few years. The games you mention in 2002 would have been played the August bank holiday weekend. Traditionally a massive weekend for families travelling and going on holiday. Both it and the June bank holiday have always had negative affects on attendances in croker. Although I do love a bank holiday Sunday game or a Saturday evening game.
