All Ireland Final tickets

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

The way the tickets get distributed is disgraceful.
Teachers, Gardai, Civil Servants, Corporates, etc mop up so many tickets that the CLUBS who supply and produce the players and basically ARE the GAA get 2/3 tickets per club?

Replying To ROS1:  "Well I would never plan my hoildays around a time my county are playing a championship game but each to there own. If you are from Dublin to are unlikely to ever have to worry about qualifiers so you would know the fixtures from early on. At present you only need to go to something like six or 7 games a year between league/championship which is very low. You could still miss a couple of games with 80% and you don't have to renew, I am sure there would be willing replacements"
For what its worth i think Dublin fans get a good deal on the season tickets. 3 or 4 home league games plus a dublin league final (if they are in it) plus Leinster semi and final, AI 1/4, semi and final. Not much hasstle getting the percentages up for that. For counties like Kerry, mayo, donegal (picking on some of the furthest away counties) its an expensive gig following your team particularly when you might only have 3 or 4 home games all year. All things considered I think 60% is fair and let be honest its still a lot more than a significant amount of the event junkies that will be there on Sunday

Anyone that knows anything about the game could see the Dublin minors were not going to win that game, close or not. Don't give me that crap, I've been at many the Dublin match where you would have thought there were no opposition fans in the ground until they got Into the game. If we only supported our teams when they win, there wouldn't have been alot of us in croker between 1995 and 2011 ( apart from Leinster).

Your a mile of 60% if the only games your attending are the ones in Croke Park.

Sorry to be pedantic but.....
Dublin have played 13 "counting" games this year. 5 of those have been outside Croker (Cavan, Donegal, Kerry, Monaghan in the league and Carlow in the championship). That leaves 8 out of 13 in Croker or 61%
I'm not complaining but rather pointing out that its a lot easier and less expensive for a Dublin fan to get to get to 60% than it is for other counties

So just because your team are losing you abandon them I find that very poor. There was only a kick of the ball in the game at the end. Derry were the better team but who knows what can happen when it is close. I remember been at the dub-kerry semi final last year the dubs were extremely quiet when kerry got the 2 goals. Then it was all noise when the dubs got ahead. indeed poor dublin supporters hard times supporting there 5 in a row leinster team from 2005-2009

Learn to read, I never said anything about not supporting your team. But you are talking through your rear end if you say Dublin fans are the only fan to go quiet when the other team is on top. I Remember a very quiet croker last March, when a certain team took a hiding. You are just another bitter Dub hater looking far any reason to attach This team and it's supporters. Nothing to see here, nothing you won't see at any game. Just concern yourself with your own supporters, next time you are on the wrong end of a hiding in croker or where ever, I'll expect to see you with you pom poms cheer leading your own crowd.

True, there was a lot of silence from the men in yellow and blue when Mayo handed their asses to them a few weeks back alright.

Dublin footballers also played in Gorey, Newbridge and Drogheda and outnumbered the home fans. Three great days out and we were treated with respect from the home fans and the various bar staff in all three towns. When Dubs have no fixture we travel to other counties. Check out where Dublin hurlers played in 2017 and like me, if you went to all matches including U-21 and minors, tell me why fair weather "Fans" including garda and politicians should be entitled to a final ticket.
The GAA management don't know which side their bread is buttered and they don't give a damn.

Clubs is Mayo are getting mostly hill tickets. Very hard to get stand tickets. Of our allocation of 16500 tickets around 7000 must be hill tickets.

That's handy, it will save the Mayo fans the bother of scouring Ireland for hill tickets this year.

Marse that's complete and utter nonsense. Nobody went looking for hill tickets last year that's what clubs got.

Nonsense is it???So there wasn't a campaign to take over the hill in Mayo last year? I think you'll find there was, as there as the year before that.

Marse.
What actually happened with that campaign was that Mayo were given a huge Hill allocation and a couple of supporters groups (Mayo Club '51 and MayoGAA Banter Page on fb for two) encouraged Mayo fans not to swap their tickets off with Dublin fans so that we would have a wall of green and red colour and noise from all sides of the ground. There was no great conspiracy per se to "Take The Hill", just to have support coming from all angles...

Was it called "fill the hill" by any chance? It does sound like a bit if a campaign, although not to the extent I made it out to be in My earlier post.

You are a very touchy sort. I will indeed support my county as always but unlike you i will not stop supporting them if the are a couple of points down. I have gone to a number of dublin games as a neutral to see a truly class team so if I hated the dubs that would be a foolish thing to do. I main point was if your minor team whether you are from Dublin or any county are in a close enough all ireland semi final and you either don't bother turning up or don't bother supporting them then you are not a good supporter of your county.
