As a lot know I don't have much love for Tyrone ,but this year I actually had respect for the the way they where playing But yesterday sitting in croker and to see them breaking away for parade was totally disrespectful to the band and the occasion !! topdownfan (Down) - Posts: 555 - 28/08/2017 23:12:13 2039723 Link 2 |

You'd swear they were the 1st team to break from the parade before it was finished. It happens in nearly every game, one team always breaks first.

Calmed me right down to be honest, i knew we had won the psychological battle when i saw that. Why run away from the hill, i never understand it, it just jees Dublin fans right up. TheUsername (Dublin) - Posts: 4445 - 29/08/2017 09:43:14 2039855 Link 3 |
These things happen and wouldn't lose too much sleep over it. Although if Tyrone had won, you'd have loads of posters say that this unsettled Dublin, got into their heads and all that nonsense stuff. poguemahone (Dublin) - Posts: 365 - 29/08/2017 09:45:26 2039857 Link 2 |
This kind of bitterness is disrespectful to the Association. Breffni40 (Cavan) - Posts: 12116 - 29/08/2017 10:06:45 2039873 Link 1 |
This is a total non-story, it happens in quite a lot of games where one teams breaks away before the parade finishes. Green_Gold (Donegal) - Posts: 1874 - 29/08/2017 10:11:54 2039882 Link 0 |
I remember in one of the finals against Mayo, the Dublin team broke from the parade right before the hill and the Mayo lads saw it through passing right in front of the bear pit unaccompanied. TheUsername (Dublin) - Posts: 4445 - 29/08/2017 10:15:05 2039889 Link 0 |
It was disrespectful from the Tyrone player's as people on hill16 pay their money too and should be entitled to the parade the same as the rest of the ground but won't loose any sleep over it as it's them who had the problem with us,the team I wanted to see paraded in front of us that's all that mattered. hill16no1man (Dublin) - Posts: 12665 - 29/08/2017 10:15:14 2039890 Link 2 |
They did it to try and rile Dublin, provoke a reaction, which, if Tyrone know absolutely anything about this Dublin team, they would know that psychologically, They wont let nonsense like that take their minds off the job that has to be done, our resulting annihilation and demolition job shows that. waynoI (Dublin) - Posts: 13650 - 29/08/2017 10:22:07 2039896 Link 2 |
For what its worth it had no effect on the game. Dublin didn't score some psychological victory that fed into the match in any real way. RoyalBadger (Meath) - Posts: 571 - 29/08/2017 10:25:57 2039902 Link 0 |
I know it's tradition but I'd get rid of he parade. Needless and allows too much build up in players and can potentially add aggro as players get hyped up by crowd and then run to their positions and wait for throw in. ormondbannerman (Clare) - Posts: 13473 - 29/08/2017 10:30:08 2039907 Link 1 |
It's been done many's the time before. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13707 - 29/08/2017 10:31:05 2039908 Link 1 |
Well its just protocol, tradition whatever. It is not so you walk in front of your own crowd. Purpose is to go all round the stadium. Personally I think it's great, especially when I have the kids with me. Adds to the razzmatazz and build up. Cranks up the volume too poguemahone (Dublin) - Posts: 365 - 29/08/2017 10:55:27 2039926 Link 1 |
Would this be something the Tyrone players decided amongst themselves or would Mickey Harte have discussed it with them? A full Hill in a full Croke Park is one of the finest settings in sport, its something teams should enjoy rather than avoid. Soma (UK) - Posts: 2630 - 29/08/2017 10:58:26 2039929 Link 0 |
Will mayo go to the hill for the warm up in final they need something to rile them up and make it a dirty slow game. OhtobeARossie (Roscommon) - Posts: 1764 - 29/08/2017 11:03:57 2039932 Link 0 |
I'd say a parade is the last thing you need as a player.

I would definitely get rid of the parade before the match garlicbread (Galway) - Posts: 17 - 29/08/2017 11:27:40 2039950 Link 1 |
Nonsense Parade is a great spectacle and at a time when sports are killing the atmosphere created by supporters naturally it is one of the last traditions that gets the whole ground cheering and cranks up the volume and atmosphere, long may they continue on the big occasions. hill16no1man (Dublin) - Posts: 12665 - 29/08/2017 11:28:16 2039951 Link 1 |
I thought it was great. Fair play to them. DannyMcA (Dublin) - Posts: 260 - 29/08/2017 11:29:10 2039953 Link 0 |
