What a shot stopper this man is! I know his kick outs aren't the best at times but he's unbelievably good on a one on one situation. His kickouts were excellent Saturday (having been good but under unreal pressure last week). His save was immense and took the game away from Kerry. We in Mayo have been saying this for years, when Clarke is taking a kick out he turns his whole body in that direction and can easily be read by the opposition, just watch Cluxton he can flick the ball left or right when his body is showing that he is kicking straight out down the middle. Clarke is a great keeper , but second best for that very reason. Great shot stopper but telegraphs everything. Riverboys - I don't think you speak for even a small minority of people in Mayo (never mind a majority) with your comments in relation to Clarkey. He has been one of our best servants over the past 15 years and showed on Saturday that his kickouts are up there with the best in the game. His kickouts arepoor, telegraphed and very loopy and floatng and so ripe for picking off by the opposition.
