The Kickout Revolution

Replying To Liamwalkinstown:  "Na....he wasn't."
Him being the current all star in his position suggests otherwise.

The one-two kickout strategy that mayo have now adopted is very effective.

Dublin can't adapt that as Cluxtin has a complete brainfart when given possession from open play.

I'd get into an argument with ye but I'd feel like Galileo when he told everyine the world was round.

The best keeper in the country was in action for Mayo today."
Clarke is the best shot stopper in the country by a mile.

His kick outs can be very poor at times. He must have given Kerry 3/4 points in the drawn game but he's worth that for probably 6 points he stops every game!

You fairly changed your tune from the David Clarke post you made.

He has been a top class keeper for 15 years.
He was first choice for his county before his club because of club politics.

Horan picked Hennelly ahead of him and it cost Mayo and Ireland in 13 and 14

Cluxton has revolutionised the game in that respect most definitely, what a player and we miss Papa in Donegal who was a huge part of our own tactics as well.

Kickouts are so important these days it's why as a Donegal man I was always concerned the past couple of years that it felt like we had no strategy at all with them. Arguably the kickout is the most important aspect of the game right now - how do you secure your own ball, how do you do so in a way that gives you a significant advantage attacking the other team and how do you deal with the oppositions kickouts are the key questions in Gaelic football now. Any management team not focussing on them as a key tactic aren't giving their side the best chance of winning.

Would have to agree with all the praise for cluxton he is undoubtedly one of the best I have seen. Up for correction but I think he is one of the only three men to lift sam as a captain three times and is going for four. He's done it all, free taking high fielding, obviously the kick out , shot stopping, all stars, nominated for footballer of the year, all irelands .

Kills me as a meath man but this man is some operator.
