Eir Sports Club Championship coverage

(Oldest Posts First)

In my opinion this is great, Eir sports will have great coverage I think. It is a great chance for clubs and players to get the recognition they deserve.

Think they're showing a couple of the Donegal club quarter finals as well. Good stuff!

They're showing 2 quarter finals, two semi finals & the final from Donegal.

I will have to be in my Sunday best & go easy on abusing the officials in case my mother sees me.

It wouldn't go down well to see me being escorted from the ground on national television!!

Does this deal have any effect on the TG4 coverage of finals & inter-provincials? Will Eir have full coverage now or will TG4 kick in later in the autumn as before?

Good to see that Eir are in touch with grassroots GAA. It seems RTE are concentrating on the Super 8 counties and ignoring a big chunk of a potential TV audience.

I think TG4 have first dibs on county finals still. But they never showed quarters or semis anyway so it's win win. The more games the better.

I find it disgraceful that its not free to air, what about the people who can't see it, sell outs as usual, i dont see people complaining like the sky deal, or is it simply because sky is british

In all fairness we have 4 irish broadcasters all along they neglect the league and club provincial championships bar tg4 and in fairness tg4 has being doing their bit for club coverage i do not have eir sport but i wudnt begrudge them if they are willing to show more club games it is giving the average club player something to look forward to. their game being shown live on tv and to give them a bit of coverage

Who would show it free-to-air and how would they pay for it?
