Just noticed that there are tickets for Tyrone v Dublin going for 3 and 4 times their face value on Seatwave - Ticketmaster's ticket resale site.
Given that it is illegal to sell tickets above cost price (according to the GAA themselves and printed on the back of all tickets), should the GAA cut ties with ticketmaster and use their own website only (and pay for increased band with to cope with queues)?
It won't stop touts chancing their arm but it'd be a start!
As far as I know, Donedeal don't allow you to sell GAA tickets and maybe pressure could be put on similar sites to follow suit (fake bids, upload imaginary tickets, etc.)

At the moment there is no legal basis to prevent this and these leeches are aware of that.
Ticketmaster have been doing this for ages and are being facilities by the GAA and others which is a complete joke and they should have been dropped long ago but it's the usual story when it comes to sales of tickets with these organisations.

The GAA's official ticketing partner is Tickets.ie not Ticketmaster. Seatwave is an online ticket marketplace (and although it's Ticketsmaster's official resale partner, as far as i know in these instances it was individuals not Ticketmaster that have advertised these tickets for sale. Ticketmaster don't have access to the tickets for them sell on Seatwave.

They're not in any kind of partnership with ticketmaster to be in the position to 'drop' them, they're in partnership with tickets.ie. The tickets for sale on Seatwave are put there by members of the public that bought them to make a quick buck.

Given that Ticketmaster's sister site is facilitating touting, surely the GAA should only sell via tickets.ie (when it comes to online sales)
Of course there's nothing to stop anyone buying from tickets.ie and selling on seatwave, but still, ticketmaster shouldn't be allowed to sell GAA tickets when they run a reselling site. (Same goes for gigs, other sports, etc.)
The GAA could follow what adele and ed sheerin did recently and refuse to release via ticketmaster.

This has been going on for years.
1991 final, I flew in from London on the Sunday morning without a ticket, bought a standing ticket face value price was 15 pounds, he wanted 100 I bargained with him and got him down to 80 pound and packet of major, that's over 5 times face value. To this day I swear it was a forgery, but no scanners in them days , so walk in with a good crowd, they just ripped off the edge without looking.
To people desperate enough to get a ticket these people offer a window of opportunity, even though they are conmen for the most part.
