Not a flag as such but the Park/Ratheniska Club in Laois had some interesting prizes for the club raffle a few years ago.

See the image link below!

During the 1980's early 90's Carlow had big Tommy Dywer in the middle. At 6ft 7 he was virtually unplayable when fit.

There was a banner at the Carlow Leix game in 85 in the Carlow colours placed behind the wire at the side of the pitch.

It read "The men behind the wire".

Younger readers probably won't get it.

There used to be a Tyrone flag, referring to Canavan, which was based on the UVF 'For God and Ulster' slogan. Not a flag, but I seem to remember, years ago, reading about Irish soccer fans chanting 'Brian Boru' at a match v Denmark. Of course, the Danish journalists wanted to know who this 'Brian Boru' lad was...

After Offaly beat Kerry in the 1982 All-Ireland final, Micheál O'Hehir decided to go quiet and let the viewers at home enjoy the scenes without commentary. His silence was replaced with laughter when this sign appeared:
Kerry are like the new bra
All support and no cup

It doesn't matter what words you hear being shouted at a Down game, it's always ambiguous.

Up Down...Go'wan down....F*** down...Good ball Down

Another poster had this one previously, in the sixties when Down were playing in the All Ireland in Croke park, the Soviet satellite Sputnik was orbiting the Earth, the story went that as they passed over Croke park in Ireland they said they got a great welcome from the Irish who were shouting " come on Down"

Were there armoured cars and tanks and guns outside?

The Tyrone fans who took that flag into Croke Park should be ashamed of themselves even if it was as a joke.
