Just seen the replays. I feel he did make a meal of it. No contact to the head however he held his head as if it was. The_Fridge (Tyrone) - Posts: 2087 - 06/08/2017 22:31:13 2029966 Link 3 |
Just saw it again myself. Was he caught at speed by an arm from McManus to the head area? It's clear that he was and was entitled to go down. It was a clear yellow card offence. He seemed genuinely shook and still down for a while after the card was issued. This was no hair toss issue. Mountain out of a mole hill.

Are posters really insinuating that there was no contact???? DannyMcA (Dublin) - Posts: 260 - 06/08/2017 23:18:54 2029989 Link 1 |
How about answering the question like a good lad? Did McManus catch him high to the head area with an arm? It's not a difficult question. If Cooper dived then the analysts and commentators on RTE ignored it. Very unlike them when it comes to the Dubs.

It was an awful dive by Jonny cooper and not a word on the Sunday game about it. Jonny is good at running into fellas and getting them booked, remember Seamus O'Shea in 2015 and Brendan Murphy this year just to name a few. KingdomBoy1 (Kerry) - Posts: 14092 - 06/08/2017 23:20:32 2029992 Link 7 |
I can't believe anyone would say that McManus did not catch Cooper in the head area with a swinging arm.

Thank god for an honest post. Have Tyrone players hit the deck easily? Yes. At least you have the balls to go against the grain and admit he acted. I can see a torrent of abuse!! The_Fridge (Tyrone) - Posts: 2087 - 06/08/2017 23:25:21 2029998 Link 3 |
Big difference in contact and acting as if he got hit on the head. He wasn't hit on the head. There was contact on the head area. Just like the Mark Bradley incident in the league...faked been hit. Got man booked/sent off.

Exaggerated contact in my opinion. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13694 - 06/08/2017 23:28:56 2030001 Link 0 |
Stick to this incident.

Its not a dive as McManus had a puck and there was contact and the card he received was correct. TheUsername (Dublin) - Posts: 4441 - 06/08/2017 23:39:40 2030010 Link 1 |
no they didn't ignore it. they said 'didnt seem a whole lot in it' which was true. McManus threw Cooper aside by pushing him around the shoulder/neck. It did not merit the theatrics from Cooper.

There was contact and a meal was made, don't like it and thankfully we're not in the habit of doing it. realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8571 - 06/08/2017 23:57:22 2030021 Link 2 |
The type of contact one would get playing with your 3 year old child.

Number 1 Jim , McManus didn't man handle a linesman. Number 2 Jim , Ciaran branagan didn't run and barge into Connolly. So they are very different incidents and des Cahill should have brought it up for discussion tonight. KingdomBoy1 (Kerry) - Posts: 14092 - 07/08/2017 00:05:34 2030026 Link 7 |
And of course Whelan keeps his mouth well and truly closed
