Dublin vs Monaghan

Now, Monaghan if they play to the full of their ability they have got this for the taking. Expecting a decent free flowing match. Would love to see Monaghan win here. Imagine a Monaghan vs Armagh Semi Final. Going for a Dublin win here though.
Dublin 2+

Monaghan aren't really playing free flowing stuff and they need to be at their best to beat the Dubs. Dubs haven't been tested yet but still can't see them slipping up at quarters and for me it's still a Dub v Red Hand semi.

Interesting analysis on The Sunday Game. 'All set up for Dublin V Tyrone semi final' but Armagh will give Tyrone their full of it. The Monaghan challenge not even worthy of a mention . Malachy O'Rourke must be delighted to be in. QF and be so poorly rated. OK We haven't been great this year but we are still there on merit. For the record I think we will give Dublin their fill of it. We usually do and there's is always 1 big Championship match in Monaghan and we definitely haven't seen it yet.

Has the throw in times been announced yet? Take it the Dub's will be on second to allow their fans 2 extra hours in the pub....

Original. However Div 1 football is considered a bigger draw so that rules Armagh out!

Monaghan have not played well in this championship and I feel one big game coming in them. Imagine if this was it.

All logic says Dublin by 12+, thats as much based on Monaghans performances to date as jt is on the utter superiority if Dublins panel.
There is simply no way Monaghan will win this. Maybe they will stick it to Dublin for 50 minutes and that will be another moral victory in the bag.
But we will show up hoping all the same.

Monaghan are a good Division 1 side that are maybe not playing to their potential right now. They'll need to be at their best next weekend. If O'Rourke can get them back on form then they'll be in with a shout.

No need to feel embarrassed, after all the Dubs have eaten players before.

The bookies have it
1/14 Dublin
9/1 Monaghan
9 points handicap

What do they think this is, the Leinster championship or something!!! Monaghan to create shock of the season

Dublin bagged 2-3 after 11 mins v Kildare. First priority here is not to allow them in for goals in the first half and try and keep the game competitive for the second half. At least that would give us a chance fairly slim one no doubt but we need to get a foothold in the game as there is no better side than Dublin to shoot the lights out early doors. Looking at their team strength all over but the half back line is superb and will be major challenge figuring out a way to counter it pace to burn. Second priority is we get a 70 min performance as nothing less than our v best will do here just to make it competitive and have a chance. Bring it on through its where you want to be in August playing the best in a packed croke park otherwise why bother training hard all winter.

Monaghan have what it takes to cause Dublin plenty of problems. They've proven this.. direct running can hurt Dublin and Monaghan have played like this in previous games against Dublin with success

But they are struggling this year to find top form

They'll need to find that on Sat night to give themselves a chance

Dublin have all the answers though IMO so it'll be a Dublin win but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Monaghan causing plenty of bother.

In fact I 100% expect them to do just that.. let's see if it'll be good enough

Monaghan were unlucky not to beat us in the league this year (as were Tyrone), they're well capable of frustrating us and tacking on points, even if not free flowing, McManus is a master at winning scorable frees and the more frees they get the more the flow of the game gets interrupted.
