Didn't come across as many tough teams as I did dirty teams, big difference. Love the name by the way. realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8585 - 22/07/2017 01:38:05 2020765 Link 2 |

Corofin, you go to play football they smash you, you try to "mix it" they are experts at the "dark arts", you think you have them beat and they just send on a sub who happens to have played,Hogan Cup football for Jarlaths, minor and U21 for Galway. Played against plenty of dirty teams in my own county. Couldn't single out one. HandballRef (Donegal) - Posts: 520 - 22/07/2017 10:20:00 2020801 Link 1 |

As a player in 1980's Tyrone Carrickmore stood out for me as the hard but fair team. Byanthon (Tyrone) - Posts: 1780 - 23/07/2017 08:41:26 2021442 Link 0 |
Hardest team I've played against would be Lucan Sarsfields skillfull but we'll able to capitalise on the opposing team If the make mistakes . Cankylunt (Dublin) - Posts: 30 - 23/07/2017 11:28:23 2021571 Link 0 |
Lucan? That's a mad assessment. Lucan's biggest problem for years and years is not being able to handle themselves when the other team brings a bit of physicality. They've lost a number of semi finals to teams that they are more skilful than but they couldn't hurl when it came to it. All through the 00s until now in anyways I'd have viewed them as very skilful but a bit of a soft touch. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13705 - 23/07/2017 11:57:42 2021601 Link 2 |
Of the better known club teams nationwide, Crossmaglen are the first to spring to mind. Physically and mentally they were seriously tough! cavanman47 (Cavan) - Posts: 5010 - 23/07/2017 13:13:32 2021662 Link 0 |
Indeed, they totally bullied and intimidated St.Galls off the pitch a few years back in the Ulster Club competition.

Toomevara in North Tipp Hurling Championship back in the 1990's always seemed to have a great team and on the big day (even an all Ireland club final in 1993 or so I think) they would end up with a player getting the line and all would unfold..a fierce strong and competitive team in North Tipp back then...
