That was your statement..
They took Dublin to a replay just last year and the year before, so I think your talking nonsense..

A few movers this week - Galway being the biggest winners and Donegal the biggest loosers over the weekend. Corks honourable performance sees them into the top 10 at the expense of Down

1.Dublin
2.Kerry
3.Tyrone
4.Mayo
5.Kildare
6.Roscommon
7.Galway
8.Monaghan
9.Donegal
10. Cork

getting beaten by galway early on in the championship is irrelevant, mayo ran the dubs as close as they ever have last year

1. DUBLIN (no change)
2. KERRY (no change)
3. TYRONE (no change)
4. MAYO (up 3)
5. KILDARE (up 3)
6. GALWAY (no change)
7. ROSCOMMON (up 4)
8. MONAGHAN (down 3)
9. DONEGAL (down 5)
10. DOWN (up 4)

The above are the Hogan stand rankings - in general these seem to be everyones top 10 with the exception of Cork replacing Down in some of our rankings. These will not change drastically between now and the end of September

I wouldn't have too many problems with that top 10, but I do think Mayo are in the most tenuous position. Any of the other teams could lose a game a as a result slip a place, maybe two. Mayo's number 3 slot is almost entirely based on their performance last year. They stumbled through the qualifiers and then, lo and behold, came within a point of lifting Sam. Consequently, no-one is willing to rule them out this year despite the fact that once again, they're stumbling through the qualifiers. A loss the next day should see them slip below Roscommon (Connacht Champions), Galway (who have beaten them every time they've met in the last two years) and possibly even Kildare, depending on how Kildare performs in the rest of the championship).

I hope no-one from Mayo takes this as a dig. I happen to think Mayo are a fascinating team this year, who can never be ruled out, but a bit of consistency wouldn't go astray.

While these rankings mean very little i don't see how kildare could be ranked in the top 5.

Can't disagree with that.I would have Roscommon and Galway ahead of Kildare on the basis that Roscommon are Connacht champs and Galway beat us twice this year.

Would any of the teams below us score 1.17 against the dubs in Croker?

Never mind the 9 point defeat :)

Lol no. Kildare look to be a improving side but i think the media got a bit carried away with there performance against the dubs.

That's a good point and I would apply the same question to the teams above you never mind the teams below you on that list.! Perhaps Kildare showed other teams and managers how to rack up scores against Dublin.Or perhaps Kildare are a much better side than they've been getting credit for.

Dublin have a game plan based on the opposition that presents itself. They didn't go defensive V Kildare as they saw that Kildare were going to play ball. They would not play the same game V Monaghan or another defensively structured team.

The top 4 are fairly set but from 5-10 I think they can all beat each other on any given day. Hard to rank them really.

Was baffled by hogan stand rankings when I saw they had Kildare in 5th (besides that thought they were fair) Kildare did absolutely nothing to prove themselves don't understand how losing by 9 points even if it is against Dublin can be viewed as an achievement. Result tonight proved they didn't deserve the spot.

1. Dublin - Won't be too upset at Kerry's less than inspired performance against Galway. 3 in a row is probable
2. Kerry- Kerry are capable of a lot more, perhaps taking it a bit easy and still winning by 8 points
3. Tyrone- Showing a lot more dynamism going forward, could they beat Dublin?
4. Mayo- Still there and do have proven quality players but are not likely to trouble the top 2
5. Roscommon- Great season, apart from relegation from Division 1. May come to an end next monday
6. Monaghan- Stops and starts, they may be reassessed after playing Dublin but have some serious quality
7. Armagh- Championship is where it's at and they are in the last 8 and improving. Will test Tyrone if they can stick with them
8. Galway- Division 2 Champions, some class forwards, midfield found it tough against Kerry. Defence should improve in Division 1
9. Kildare- Promoted from Division 2, started the championship well and had a real go at Dublin, didn't bring the same attacking game to Armagh.
10. Down- Improved throughout the year, will look for more consistency next year and push for promotion. Always have fantastic shooters.
