Well done to the minors on a tough win against Sligo. The Yeats County's no. 14 was something special though. Anyhow, very nervous towards the end, especially with Derry's point disallowed towards the end (linesman crossed the flags and the other seemed to point to the small square, indicating an infraction when the ball broke back to the scorer.) No easier next time out. Hopefully there will be a full deck to play with from the get go. hermann (Derry) - Posts: 170 - 06/08/2017 21:32:21 2029946 Link 0 |
We had 17 wides which tells its own story - if we had scored half of our wide tally we would have won this game Handy but it made for a nervy Finish - hopefully the men that couldnt start are available for the next day out - a good tight game like that will stand to them -

Now that my disappointment has somewhat subsided I just wanted to congratulate you on a terrific victory on Sunday. Seen these lads a few times this year and they are a fine bunch. Loads of talent but I think the character they showed in the closing minutes against a very good Dublin side was excellent. They kept playing their football and held their nerve to push on for a very deserved victory. Just hope they go on now to lift the (last?) Tom Markham . mchugp (Tyrone) - Posts: 82 - 30/08/2017 23:34:38 2040942 Link 1 |
Thank you McHugp - will be a tough ask - especially with the wonderkid Clifford

When McErlain suggested in his post match interview that Derry struggled to get a decision from the ref was he taking the proverbial P****, no doubt Derry deserved the win as they took their chances but they did score ten points from frees! sligo joe (Dublin) - Posts: 661 - 01/09/2017 15:13:46 2041621 Link 0 |

Sound man doirebhoy Clifford is a class act for sure and hopefully we'll keep on to him , his parents are mad GAA so that might work in our favour just like the Jason foley situation. Although we've had great minors in the past like Barry John Walsh (tommys brother) and paddy curran and nothing became of them so we won't get too excited. Anyway il be watching ye'r teams from now on a long with our own and il be keeping an eye out for the McWilliams twins Calum Browne and paddy quig and young mccluskey , all the best in the years a head.
