All eyes in the Longford SFC this weekend will be on the meeting of two of the favourites for the title, Longford Slashers and Dromard with the losers exiting the championship at the group stage.

The sides meet in the last round of group games and the winners will advance from the group alongside defending champions Mullinalaghta and Killoe, but for the losers, a disappointing end to the campaign will come about.

A draw will be enough to see Slashers through and they will be slight favourites to advance to the last eight, but they face a decent Dromard side that only lost to Mullinalaghta by a single point in the last round.

In the other group, it is not as clear cut with only Abbeylara assured of a place in the knockout stages, but Clonguish and Carrickedmond or Mostrim should join them.
