Fermanagh goalkeeper Chris Snow has revealed that he will not be committing to the inter-county scene in 2018.

Snow lined out in the SFC qualifier defeat to Armagh last weekend, but that will be his last game for the county for the foreseeable future at least.

The demands of an inter-county player have increased ten-fold in recent years and the commitment needed is right up there with professional sports stars.

The Fermanagh shot stopper has cited the arrival of a new baby later in the year and he admitted to the Fermanagh Herald that he can't commit the time to the county scene.

"I'll definitely not be back next season," stressed the Ederney clubman. "Joan is expecting again in September. I'll never say I'm retiring, because I'm 28 and being a goalkeeper you could maybe come back in two or three years time older and wiser. But next season I'll definitely not be back.

"There is that much time out of the house and it's not fair on Joan to expect her to do all with two children. It was a big commitment to go back this year and if you aren't going to be there and do all the gym sessions and be at all training sessions you shouldn't be there."
