Mayo goalkeeper David Clarke has given his biggest indication that he will return to the fold next year.

Clarke revealed after the All-Ireland final defeat to Dublin that he would take some time out before making a decision on his inter-county future.

However, on his return from the All-Stars tour in Dubai, Clarke met up with the rest of the Mayo squad for an assessment.

Clarke was controversially dropped for the All-Ireland final replay, but was introduced in the second half after his replacement Rob Hennelly was black carded.

Meanwhile, Mayo goalkeeper coach Peter Burke has been promoted to the role of selector for the coming year. Burke replaces Sean Carey who has stepped down after one year in the position.
