Annaghdown players celebrate after the game

Annaghdown of Galway made history on Sunday by capturing the All-Ireland ladies intermediate football championship title with victory over Shane O'Neills of Armagh.

Team captain Niamh Duggan described the feeling afterwards, while her manager Tom Murphy cited it as "a fabulous achievement by this group of girls".

"You dream in the back yard years and years ago of lifting the cup for the club, it's really, really special," said Duggan after the victory at Parnell Park.
