Cathal McCarron says his appearance on The Late Late Show next Friday to promote his new autobigraphy has nothing to do with Tyrone GAA's boycott of RTE.

Mickey Harte and his squad have refused to give interviews to the national broadcaster since a hugely insensitive radio sketch about the death of the manager's daughter Michaela, who was murdered on honeymoon in Mauritius, was aired on the John Murray Show in 2011.

But McCarron has stressed on twitter that the boycott of RTE is a 'completely separate issue' to his appearance on RTE's flagship show. It's believed the controversial defender is obligated to appear on the show as part of publicity obligations with the publishers of Out of Control.

Meanwhile, Kerry's Kieran Donaghy will sit down with Ryan Tubridy tonight to discuss his new book What Do You Think of That?
