The Leitrim County Board have e-mailed all clubs in the county inviting them to nominate potential candidates for the position of senior football manager.

The search for Shane Ward's successor has begun in earnest and although Aidan Rooney and Pauric Davis have been touted as the early favourites, the county board is following procedure and inviting all candidates to apply.

The e-mail released reads: "An email has been sent to all Leitrim GAA clubs secretaries inviting nominations of suitably qualified personnel. The club is advised that they must have the permission of the person they may choose to nominate, before doing so.

"In addition to this, Leitrim GAA Management Committee invites applications from persons who may have an interest in this position. Interested parties should apply in writing and submit a CV with details of coaching qualifications, and management experience for consideration by email to [email protected]
