New York manager Justin O'Halloran was a proud man after the Exiles nearly dumped Roscommon out of the Connacht SFC.

The hosts slipped to a luckless 1-15 to 0-17 defeat at Gaelic Park on Sunday and O'Halloran feels it's a game they could have won:

"I think if we had another minute or two we would have won it," he says in The Irish Daily Star.

"I couldn't be more proud of that team. I said it last week and probably a few people laughed at me but I knew what we had here.

"A lot of teams would have folded after half time. We knew if we got the first score after half time, we'd put pressure on them. We ended up kicking more scores than Roscommon - they had 16, we had 17. We just didn't get the onion bag."
