The Central Competitions Control Committee (CCCC) will present counties with three proposals for a newly formatted All-Ireland senior football championship before Christmas.

According to the Irish Examiner, Thursday night's county board meeting in Cork saw Central Council delegate Bob Ryan reveal that the current structure of the All-Ireland SFC could change from 2017, with discussions having taken place over the existing format.

The CCCC will canvass counties for views on its three proposals of change to the All-Ireland series, while the majority view was the provincial championships should not be altered.
