John O'Rourke is expected to miss the start of Cork's 2016 campaign after dislocating his left shoulder twice during last Sunday's Cork SFC semi-final.

The Southern Star reports that the attacker played through the pain barrier in Carbery Rangers' defeat to Nemo Rangers at Pairc Ui Rinn. The first dislocation occurred early in the second half. However, after coming to the sideline and having the shoulder popped back in, he was able to return to the fray.

But O'Rourke dislocated the shoulder again and, after the game, headed for Cork University Hospital to have it pushed back in a second time. He is due to have the troublesome shoulder - which he also dislocated when playing for Cork in last April's Allianz League final against Dublin - operated on in early November and is set to be out of action for up to five months.
