Tipperary minor footballer Aidan Buckley has raised €2,000 for charity by shaving off his famous beard.

The St. Patrick's clubman was one of the most photographed footballers in the country this summer thanks to his wild facial hair, having decided at the start of the year that he wouldn't shave it off until Tipperary were knocked out of the championship. As it transpired, Tipp went all the way to last month's All-Ireland final where they were beaten by Kerry.

As Aidan's mother Ann is recovering from cancer, he has decided to donate the proceeds of his beard shave to the Irish Cancer Society.

Well done Aidan!
