Gallagher: huge prize on offer

Donegal manager Rory Gallagher believes that Sunday's clash against Tyrone is a relegation play-off.

Gallagher is convinced that with just one round of games to go after Sunday, the loser will be relegated to Division Two, alongside more than likely Derry.

Both Donegal and Tyrone are on four points and a win for either would almost certainly guarantee their safety for another year.

The sides are due to meet in the Ulster SFC in a few weeks, but Gallagher stressed to the Donegal Democrat that they were just focused on this weekend's game at the moment.

"There is a huge prize for the winners, who would almost certainly be safe in Division One," said Gallagher. "The best form of shadow boxing is to win on Sunday.

"Maybe if this game had come earlier in the league, that might not have happened. Our only focus is on this Sunday and the championship game will look after itself."
