Waterford manager Tom McGlinchey is focused on their opening NFL Division 4 clash against Wicklow.

The Decies caused a sensation by winning the McGrath Cup having defeated Cork in the semi-final before seeing off the challenge of UCC in the final.

This was Waterford's first piece of silverware since 1981 and they could be forgiven for over indulging in their celebrations.

However, McGlinchey turned his attention to the start of the league and stressed that the players have done likewise.

"The bread and butter is the league and this is fantastic preparation," said McGlinchey. "You even heard Thomas (O'Gorman) saying that on the podium, it's all about next Saturday.

"That's without putting too much pressure on them. They are very aware that they want to get out of Division Four this year."
