Walsh keen for improvement

Donnchadh Walsh believes Mid-Kerry will need a complete turnaround at centre-field if they are to overcome Austin Stacks in tomorrow's Kerry SFC final replay.

Walsh and his team mates came from three points behind at the interval to snatch a 1-13 to 2-10 draw in Killarney last weekend and they know they'll need to tighten up around the middle in order to have any chance of clinching the title.

"All year we had been doing well around the middle and went into the game maybe taking that for granted," Walsh told the Irish Sun.

"But Stacks saw that as our strength and they absolutely blew us away on breaks and around the middle. We were disappointed - and lucky - to get out the gap with a draw."

As for the threat of Kieran Donaghy, scorer of 1-1 the last day, Walsh says they'll look to try and nullify the big Kerry full-forward as best they can.

"You can't really master Kieran influence, just cope with it and limit it," he said. "We will have to think of something again."
