The Script will perform at Croke next summer

Dublin band The Script will perform at Croke next summer.

Promoters MCD announced this morning that Danny O'Donoghue and the boys will play with Pharrell Williams at GAA headquarters on June 20. The band's last major Dublin show saw them draw over 50,000 to the Aviva Stadium in 2011 and they are expected to have little difficulty in selling out Croke Park, which has an 82,300 capacity.

Last summer, Garth Brooks sold out a record-breaking five concerts at Croke Park, only for him to pull the plug on all five after Dublin City Council rejected plans for two of the concerts.

Tickets for The Script concert - which is expected to be the only one to take place in Croker next year - will go on sale from Ticketmaster on Thursday, November 6th at 9am.
