Armagh moving deck chairs as Grimley tipped for selector's role

Speculation is mounting that Paul Grimley will remain part of the Armagh football management team.

The Pearse Og man stepped down as manager last month and was promptly replaced by his assistant Kieran McGeeney who has been handed a five-year term. But it could yet prove to be a case of moving the deckchairs if, as expected, Grimley reprises his role as an Armagh selector / assistant manager with Peter McDonnell, Martin McQuillan and Denis Hollywood also likely to remain part of the backroom team.

Following McGeeney's appointment three weeks ago, Kilcoo manager and former Orchard County defender Jim McCorry was tipped to become his number two. However, McCorry's name continues to be strongly linked to the vacant manager's post in Down.

Grimley had been assistant to Paddy O'Rourke before succeeding the former Down All-Ireland winning captain as manager in July 2012.
