2009O_Dwyer has the penny not dropped yet? A credible senior club would not lower themselves to play the likes of you. Why are you complaining since this is the way you swindle points in the junior league anyway!

Fermanagh V Derry
Jesus Irvinestown Gael you do talk some tripe. Typical sham mouthing off about Enda Ferris, give the lad a break how can you say he got a roasting when he came of the pitch with 3 points, and would have probly won the game for Fermanagh if he had taken the free at the end. Dont see to many shams in the panel for the McKenna Cup, but then again the trials dont be held in Sissy Mc Gintys, like most people in there good Bar stool Fans!!

Fermanagh V Derry
Sham gael would not agree with you entirely. There are some goo lads like damiel Kille showing potential. Derry did take Fermanagh off their gaurd and could have lost the match. By the way, I like you analogy with Coa cause it sums up the self ambitious going nowhere club!

Fermanagh V Derry
Disappointing to see that we have nothing exciting player-wise coming through for Fermanagh. It still takes seasoned players like Shane Goan and Eamon Maguire to save Fermanagh on the day.
Yesterday's game reminds me of Coa on a good day when they try to impress but are later swallowed up by the opposition because they are hollow in in skilles and true talent.
I know the McKenna Cup is a testing ground for up and coming talent but those who fielded yesterday under that umbrella failed in my mind e.g. Ederney's Ferris was simply roasted by the Derry defenders.

Fermanagh V Derry
Good analysis although it was Ciaran McElroy that dropped the ball leading to the Derry goal, not Foy.

Fermanagh V Derry
Fermanagh 0-10 Derry 1-07
fermanagh looked ok in this game against a derry outfit which fielded very few regulars, on the other hand fermanagh had ronan gallagher, shane goan, peter sherry, damien kelly, james sherry, ryan keenan and subs eamon maguire Tommy and ciaran mcellroy who all started the ulster finals if i remember correctly. fermanagh deserved to win and should have if it wasnt for a few mistakes in the last ten minutes or so. there were a lot of new faces involved and although the team may only have trained once or twice in early january before the game its worth having a look at how the guys got on.
Ronan Gallagher - made 2 mistakes on high balls one went for a 45 and the other should have been converted by a wasteful derry forward, otherwise gallagher was reasonably assured
Michael Jones - Good performance in the first half especially, denied his man possesion of the ball due to his tight marking, recieved yellow card late in second half
Rory Foy - Done very well up until vital mistake where he dropped a high ball in to the derry mans arms which resulted in a goal, other than that mistake foy was impressive
Shane Goan - solid as usual
Paul Johnston - Looks like he could push for a place in the team this year, he is athletic, strong and a good defender
Peter sherry - Played in the position he plays at club level but never had he played here for the county, done ok but wont be pushing for the centre half back spot this year
Damien Kelly - Done his usual job although had some wayward shooting
Ryan Carson - Done reasonably well but his distribution was awfull, too many times he tried to hit the hard option with the outside of the boot and failed. must learn that posession is vital at this level and to give it away cheaply is going to put the team under unneeded pressure. good point from play but wasteful at other times
James sherry - looked a little out of sorts and wasnt in the game for long spells, didnt seem too mobile
Pat Cadden - Lively display with some sucessful frees and a good point from play. dispossessed too handy at times
Daniel Kille - Some decent passing, although his shooting was a bit off and that is his main attribute, hopefully he can get confidence in himself in the coming weeks replaced in the second half
Ryan Keenan - decent passing at times but had little effect otherwise, didnt stand out as county standard against derrys second string, bad shooting again
Enda ferris - good in the first half, sucessful free kicks a point from play i think, another pointed free in second half, dispossessed handy at times and didnt stand out as a very good corner forward, other than freekicks he would have had a quiet afternoon
Seamus Ryder - Broke most high ball and got 2 scores from play, seemed a bit sluggish but with good training in coming weeks should improve, may push for a full forward spot in the league if he gets himself in shape, carson could be used as a full forward in the coming weeks hopefully as i think he is built for it and could cause havoc for a full back
Paul ward - unlucky on the day to have an awful outing, seemed to get dispossessed too handy, especially in the second half and was taken off midway through the second half, he can and will play better than that
Subs
Eamon Maguire - looked a touch of class when he came on, set up cadden for a good point, looked hungry to win
Shane OBrien - little impact on the game, slotting in at centre half forward spot but started to jump and contect for every kickout when he should have been staying down looking for the breaks
Ciaran McEllroy - not on for long, scored the equaliser from a difficult position
Tommy McEllroy - not on long but drove the team on
James Connelly - Not on for long, but missed a glorious oppertunity for a point

New Rules any need?
There is difinite merit in these new rules. Especially the one aimed at the soccer type "professional foul". How many time have we seen a brilliant piece of skill by a player to evade a man etc and then as he is bearing down on goal someone comes across and just rugby tackles/trips him etc. What is the punishment, a ticking or yellow card at worst for the offender and he will stay on the pitch while the forward may have got a penalty but might only get a 14 yard free. Where is the justice, where is the incentive to play attacking skillful football. A yellow card and being ordered of may make such offenders think twice. Especially goalkeepers who sometimes just pull down forwards in a one on one situation.
However as with all the rules it will come down to whether the ref has the barvery to act on them at times which will determine their success. If every ref applied them we would have agame with less negaativity and cyncism. A better spectacle for all involved.

Economic turmoil in fermanagh
No wonder the economy is in a bad way when people are talking about a British supermarket chain namely tesco. If we spent our money in local stores then the economy would be more balanced. Add that to the fact that its the local stores that sell lotto tickets and sponsor our club teams. Our mindset should not be about the multinational company's.
North/south there is no such thing in the gaa- It is an all ireland organisation therefore as members we should not be caught up in the british influence that is so prominent in the media.

Economic turmoil in fermanagh
Todays euro rate in tesco £0.94. A few years ago we didn't pass much remarks on 50euros, in todays climate it is a lot of money.

Break up of leagues is stupid!
the more clubs in the senior leauges the better! players play the same players every year and nothing new is developed in way of tactics or improvement of abilitys. fermanagh has benifitted immensley from playing at a higher level of nfl thus making our players adapt and hone skills. tha same can only happen if more of our players are exposed to a regular testing of their skills against numerous opponets.

Playing football in north west England
There is a new club forming in Chester called Chester Noamh Padraig. Anyone who lives in Chester and/or the surrounding areas and are interested in playing Gaelic Football drop me an email shanec2k@gmail.com. Those who travel to Manchester or Liverpool can save time and money on fuel and travelling and join this club which is extremely convenient. This club has been founded on the back of a very successful University team in Chester. Anyway people looking forward to hearing any responses , thanks Shane

Break up of leagues is stupid!
Theres no reason why Coa shouldn't be miving up, it would only be good for football in the county.
As for GAALLTHEWAY saying Bellnaleck would be a better proposition, catch a grip. They are lying in the lower reaches of Div 2 Junior Football, no were near the standard of Coa or Maguiresbridge. Both of whom i feel should be senior due to Coa's Championship success and Maguiresbridge's Junior Div 1 lge success. I also feel the like of Derrygonnelly and Teemore, Roslea Juniors would also be good enough. It would enhance the standard of football and make way for 3 Divisions, making a stronger county in football terms.
But lets see what the CCC come up with!!!

Break up of leagues is stupid!
Sham gael you know very well that the proposed changes will leave yourselves at the bottom of the heap. As for Coa I think they are rising above their station. Bellanaleck would be a more appropraite club at senior as they have more potential and a good field for senior playing.
