All-Ireland "C" Under 21 Hurling Championship-2015
Andrew O Neill Cup Quarter Final Quarter Final
Sunday 5th 2015
Played at Brewster
Fermanagh, 1 gl. 7 pts.; Tyrone, 0 gl. 15 pts.
A hastened cobbled together Fermanagh under 21 hurling side after an hour of manly endeavours, and not as little hurling skills were finally defeated by a better prepared Tyrone team, who's scoring and marking skills were better distributed throughout their side. Though they host Erneside sought to keep up in tackling and scoring skills they were always behind from the games beginning, playing catch up, and at the interval trailed by 8 points to 4 points. Then they lake landers on the games resumption increased theirs scoring rate, with additional 1 goal 3 points. Not to be outdone they young Red Hands upped their scoring by an additional 7 points also. They difference was that they more organised Tyrone had done more than enough in the matches opening half to secure promotion to the next round of the Andrew O Neill Cup, and the Under 21 Hurling Championship of 2015.
The Match-the opening half
Tyrone First On Top
It was the more assured Tyrone visiting side that had this game's scoring off to a quick start, with two points from Mathew Mulgrew. Immediately Fermanagh's scorers Ciaran Corrigan and Mathew Martin created this games only draw of 2 points-apiece. However it was the more confident Red Hand side, who seized the opening half's scoring initiative with an additional 6 points from Mathew Mulgrew (3 points) Lorcan Devlin (1 point) and Duibhir Marshall ( 2 points). It was this trio of Red Hands and backed up by a live wire supply network originating from their defence that wreaked havoc on a largely ill prepared Fermanagh defence in the matches' opening half. However two defenders in the guise of they Ernesiders full back David Teague and centre half back Barrie Duffy stood out and then effectively linked up with their mid-fielder Thomas Cleary to propel the slithor onwards to link up with their team mate and ace scoring full forward Ciaran Corrigan. It was the latter that bagged his and sides additional 2 points from play in the final quarter of the opening half.
Half time scores

Second half
Fermanagh and Tyrone Stepped Up Their Scoring
In sharp contrast to this game's opening moments it the host side Fermanagh that registered the closing half's opening quarter with a trio of early points from full forward Ciaran Corrigan. However they far from subdued visiting Tyrone side quickly replied with three points from Mathew Mulgrew, and 2 points Duibhir Marshall. With the games' third quarter almost up and the Brewster Park score board now declaring a resurgent Fermanagh boasting 7 points to an equally vibrant Tyrone with 13 points, there was feeling manifested amongst the increasing home side attendance that if they Ernesiders wanted to pull this match out of Red Hand furnace a major score would have to be created. As the cliché goes come the hour, cometh the man. And up steps their ace scoring full forward Ciaran Corrigan, who seized on incoming slithor and then flew threw his opponents defence and then fired home, his, his sides and the games only major score. Now the park's scoreboard declared a more favourably 1 goal 7 points for the Ernesiders to 13 points for the Red Hands. However the former scores was all that a tenacious Fermanagh side could offer to a still very capable Tyrone side, who now copper fastened their victory, with the last two point s from Lorcan Devlin and Mathew Mulgrew. The Red Hands had now more than enough scores to claim victory in a game that their Fermanagh host were far from push overs.
