Fermanagh, 1gl. 16 pts.; Fingal, 3gls. 13 pts.

A Fermanagh side that had been in this games' opening half been morale boosting in front, with a score of 1 goal 9 points for the Ernesiders to a more modest 1 goal 6 points for their Fingallian opponents, succumbed to a two goal whammy early in the games second half. With the old adage that goals win match, and the north Dublin, once in front were never caught up, went on to win with as score 3 goals 13 points to 1 goal 16 points for their formerly dominant hosts and opponents.

The Match-the First Half.
This game's opening half's scoring star was unquestionably the Fermanagh ace free taker, John Duffy with his clinical and ruthlessly accuracy punished the carelessly fouling visiting Fingal side.  It was they Ernesiders' mid-fielder who in the first thirty minutes of this game dominated play, when he fired over seven out of the Fermanagh side's nine points. Veteran returnee and centre half forward Dermott Curran shared the scoring of the other two Fermanagh points, with mid-fielder Danny Teague. However the iconic score of this game's opening was a might strike from Wexford born veteran and left full back Karl Kehoe, with a mighty puck from deep mid-field completely mesmerized the Fingal goalkeeper who aided the slithor on into his own net. For the North Dubliners their opening half's scoring was claimed by a quartet, led by Dave Smyth, John Sheridan, Colm Byrne and Eoin O'Connor.  From a mixture of minor scores from frees and play. When the half time referee's whistle blew, it was by common consent by the Fermanagh hurling faithful that though the Ernesiders were in front they were reliant on both Fingal free conceding the unnerving accuracy of John Duffy. But they Fermanagh side would need more imput from other attackers to win this game.

Second Half
Buttlerly "Steals" The Match For Fingal.

Like this matches' opening half it was Ernesiders ace score taker John Duffy, who seamlessly scored his eight point from a free. Nothing had changed yet!  An early sign of the visitors scoring intent, when the Fingallian's Colm Byrne pucked over two points from frees. This now narrowed the scoring difference to a point still in favour of the Fermanagh side. Very soon and very dramatically this would all utterly. With the games third quarter now quickly ebbed away and the host Fermanagh side increases their lead to 1 goal 11 points with a point from John Duffy, to 1 goal 8 points for Fingal, all was OK! for the Ernesiders, until from out of nowhere, North Dublin's Danny Butterly seized control of this game, when he in a matter of minutes banged home his sides' second and third goals from firstly a free, and from play.  With the scoring difference now swinging dramatically in favour of Fingal, who now boasted a morale boosting score of 3 goals 8 points 1 goal 11 points for the now hapless hosts. Whilst they Fermanagh side continued attacking their visitors defences seeking the allusive goals, they rejuvenated Dublin side now became full term not let their hosts regain scoring dominance, which they Ernesiders held for most of the most the game. With the fourth quarter now entered both sides relied on points to win this match. However the pressure was all they Fermanagh, who had now had serious two prong strategy to adopt defend again the increasing scoring raids of the now winning Fingallian side, and attempt to retrieve the scoring game in the Fermanagh side's favour. They latter did add a useful four points from frees by John Duffy and their last score by Brian McLoughlin.  However their wining game had been lost, when early the second half when they Ernesiders' succumbed a double goal scoring whammy from Danny Butterly.  They latter's side pucked over five match winning points from Eoin O'Connor, John Sheridan and Colm Byrne. They Fingallian's had now just to maintain their modest scoring difference over their hosts, who never recovered from their early lapses in defence.
