Fermanagh promise zero tolerance on social media abuse

December 18, 2014

The role of social media in the GAA is becoming a real bone of contention

Fermanagh County Board chairman Patsy Dolan says there will be a zero tolerance approach to abuse posted on social media during 2015.

At Convention on Monday, Dolan continued with a theme that he had introduced last year:

"As I pointed out last year to Convention, it [social media] is not an avenue for those who wish to be destructive or in some cases malicious in application. I appeal to you all again, use it in a sensible and constructive way.

"If you have a problem with a referee, County Board officer, club officer or player, take it to the relevant person or committee for advice. I had to speak to a few people during the year on this activity.

"Let me be clear on this: in the coming year, any transgressors wil be invited before conty management where I will encourage zero tolerance."
