Fermanagh's Barry Owens

Fermanagh secretary Tom Boyle remains hopeful that some of the county's stalwarts who announced their retirements this year will reconsider their decision.

Two-time All Star full back Barry Owens was among those to call it a day at the end of the 2014 campaign.

"A number of players who had provided excellent service to the county, namely Barry Owens, James Sherry, Tommy McElroy, Paul Ward, Eamon Maguire, Brian Cox, John Woods, Conor Foy and Mark Murphy, announced at the end of the season that they were retiring or taking a break from inter-county football.

"Hopefully some will reconsider," Boyle writes in his report to next Monday night's annual convention.

"We thank them for their years of commitment to the Fermanagh jersey and wish them well in the future.

"I thank Peter McGrath and all his backroom team for all their efforts in their first year in charge, and we look forward to the new season in 2015."
