Lisbellaw's paths to the Shield Final
In their first outing in the Leadon Timber Framed Ulster Minor Hurling Tournament of 2014, Lisbellaw rather easily defeated Monaghan minor hurling champions Carrickmacross, with final telling score of 2 goals 14 points to 1 goal 8 points for the Emmet's. Despite that emphatic win they St Patrick lads went into the tournament semi-final as outsiders against Dungannon. Taken advantage of favourable win behind they St Patrick's side raced into an interval lead 1 goals. 9 points to 2 points for the modestly scoring Eoghan Ruadh. Then on that game's resumption and now battling both against a fierce wind and a greatly rejuvenated Dungannon side, nevertheless Lisbellaw went on to win the Shield semi- Final, with three points to spare. They St Patrick's lads have now just over to a week to prepare themselves for the Ulster Minor Hurling Tournament Shield Final of 2014 against Donegal minor hurling champions, Buncrana on Sunday 9th November, 2014 at 1:00pm in the Shield Final at At Ballinascreen . In the other semi-final the north Donegal side had a winning margin of 4 points over Armagh opponents, with a final score of 2 goals 9 points to 1 goal 8 points for Armagh minor hurling champions Cuchullians.
