Though missing several of their hurling stars, Lisbellaw were compensated with return of iconic St Patrick's attacker John Duffy off after a pro longed injury.

Then from that moment on Lisbellaw forcible took firm control of the scoring game, when they added a further 1 goal 4 points to Middletown's modest 4 points, in the remainder of the match.

First half
In this very competitive opening minutes, with both sides swapping points from firstly Paul Corry for Middletown and an equally point from Lisbellaw mid-fielder Mark Slevin, who pucked his first score from a free. Then for the first time Na Fianna went in front with a point from Paudric Hughes. This game's second score was created by St Patrick's full forward J, P.McGarry, with a point from play. Then they latter was joined in this joining spree, with a further two points by hosts captain and left full forward Sean Corrigan, with his opening scores of the match.

The last minor scores signalled the beginning of Lisbellaw's scoring dominance of the game in its second quarter, with further points by Mark Slevin, to put St Patrick's in front by 5 points 2 points for Middletown. Eventually Na Fianna replied with his third and fourth points by Ciaran McKiernan. However with less than five minute to half time it was Lisbellaw's full forward J, P.McGarry, who banged home they game's first goal from play. Then Sean Corrigan, and his younger brother and right half forward Ciaran Corrigan added two further points from a free and from play. They far from vanquished Middletown side reached deep down and with a fifth point from Ciaran McKiernan. It was Lisbellaw's captain Sean Corrigan, who replied with his side's eight point from a free in. However the last score of the opening half came from the very in form Nathan Corry who blasted home his side's sole goal from play.

Second half
Na Fianna Resurrect Themselves
In complete contrast to this game's opening moments it was they resurgent Na Fianna, who registered five unanswered five points from Nathan Corry to bring the early second half's score to 1 goal 10 points for Middletown to 1 goal 8 points for Lisbellaw. Whilst St Patrick's eventual reply was a ninth point from a free by the inform Sean Corrigan, it was the latter's next score a massive second goal for his side from play, that signalled they Lisbellaw's side return to scoring dominance. Though Na Fianna were far from beating, when Ciaran McKiernan and Nathan Corry clipped over their side's elventeeth and twelfth points from a free. Still not finished Middletown had their two final points from Ciaran McKiernan and Nathan Corry. However it was the more dominant Lisbellaw side, which finished this match in scoring style, with a goal from play by centre half forward Tommy Cleary. Moments to full time it was copper fasten time for Lisbellaw, with points from Sean Corrigan.
