Semi-finals down for decision
September 10, 2010
The business end of the Fermanagh senior and intermediate football championships has arrived with the semi-finals of both competitions taking place this weekend (September 11-12).
The Quinn Insurance SFC semis both take place at Brewster Park, with Devenish taking on St Patrick's under lights on Saturday night and Roslea Shamrocks meeting Enniskillen Gaels on Sunday afternoon.
Devenish haven't graced the county showpiece since 1998 but have the tradition to back them up against a St Patrick's side which broke its duck in terms of senior championships two years ago.
Roslea reached the final for the first time in 20 years in 2009, eventually losing out to Derrygonnelly, but they will be hoping to go one better this year.
To do that, they must first overcome an Enniskillen side which won seven championships in a row between 1998 and 2004 but is now bidding to book a final place for the first time since 2006.
The Kevin Courtney Car Sales IFC semi-finals see Brookeborough meet Irvinestown at Brewster Park on Saturday evening, with Coa O'Dwyers taking on Lisnaskea Emmetts on Sunday.
