Lisnaskea Emmett's Hurling Blitz - 2009 Friday 26 June 2009 An Evening of Sheer Hurling Enjoyment Cumann lomaint Eiméid Na scéithe Last Friday 26th June, 2009, Lisnaskea Emmett's Hurling Club as their contribution to the Lisnaskea Community Festival organised evening of "sheer hurling enjoyment for the under "8"'s, "10 "and "12" from Ballyshannon Aodh Ruadh, Lisbellaw St Patrick's, Knock's Grattan's Hurling Club's. and Lisnaskea Hurling Club. Prior to the puck off the host club Emmett's Chairman Frank Curran called for a minute's silence in honour of the late Joseph Teague father of Martin former chairman of Lisnaskea G.A.A current senior manager Damien and committee member Paddy. Also father of Anthony Lisbellaw hurling stalwart. His grandsons Mathew Daniel and David are player members of Lisbellaw Hurling Club. At the conclusion of the Lisnaskea Hurling Blitz, the club's chairman Frank Curran before thanking they participants and their clubs, he remarked on the sober shadow which over hung the blitz. The death that day of Emmett club stalwart Joseph (Joe) Teague who's life long committeemen to the Emmett's club was highly regarded. Frank Curran then called upon brothers Jason and Paul McManus former Fermanagh and Lisnaskea hurling stars to present medals to the winners and runners up in the boys and girls puck fada.
