22 June 2009 Lory Meagher Cup Quarter Final Played at BrewsterPark, Enniskillen Sunday, 21 June, 2009. Fermanagh, 0 gl. 8 pts; Donegal, 3 gls. 20 pts. Fermanagh Heavily Defeated By Superior Donegal. In this very one sided Lory Meagher Cup quarter final played yesterday Sunday 21st June, 2009 at Brewster Park, Enniskillen, a vastly superior Donegal team quickly saw the host side Fermanagh, with a telling score of Fermanagh, 8 points to Donegal's 3 goals 20 points. The visiting Tirconnell side got off to dream storing start, when their right corner forward Lee Henderson, who grabbed an incoming slithor and then cut in from the pitches right side blasted home his team's first goal. Though Fermanagh immediately responded from their left half forward Brendan McGarry who popped over a well taken point from play, the next fifteen minutes of scoring was solely dominated by Donegal, who registered five unanswered points from the following players, left half forward Kevin Campbell, six points all from frees, and one point from their right half forward Ciaran Mathewson who pucked over from play. At the beginning of the second quarter the Ernesiders right corner forward Sean Corrigan briefly broke the visitors scoring monopoly when popped over two morale boosting points. The latter was joined in this mini Fermanagh purple by Brendan McGarry who fired his second point from play. The last minutes of this games opening half continued with the scoring dominance the fast and fiery Donegal scorers, who modestly pucked over a further two points from surprise, surprise Kevin Campbell, who now registered his seventh point. Unfortunately for the latter and his team mates, that audacious score provoked they Tirconnell visitors into a second quarter of 2 goal 3 points of unanswered scores, which came from the following players, Sean McVeigh 1 goal 1 point, both from play, Ciaran Mathewson, registered his sides third and final goal from play and also popped over his second point from play. Finally Nial Campbell completed this scoring trio when the left corner forward pucked his second and his sides twelfth point. This games last quarter witnessed the total in command Donegal sides perfect and rather easily copper fasten their scoring grip on this increasingly one side game.
