Lory Meagher Cup round-up
June 14, 2009
Longford's 5-15 to 2-22 victory over Donegal at Devine Park, Edgeworthstown was the game of the day in the Lory Meagher Cup.
Donegal came into the tie as favourites, but were undone by a hat-trick of goals from Joe O'Brien and a brace from Jonathan Minnock. The visitors put Mattie McLoughlin's side under huge pressure in the closing stages, but two magnificent saves by Paddy Cullen ensured the midlanders of the win.
In the other Group A clash, South Down overcame Leitrim by 2-14 to 1-14, while Fermanagh beat Cavan by six points and Tyrone hammered Warwickshire in Group B.
