1. Shane Ryan (Kerry)
Came to the Kingdom’s rescue with a vital save to deny Damien Comer just before the break in Austin Stack Park.
2. David Dempsey (Offaly)
After a round 1 defeat to Cork, Dempsey and the Faithful County shared the spoils with Longford in O’Connor Park.
3. Mark Timmons (Laois)
Laois brought Armagh back down to earth with a bang and the experienced Timmons was one of the O’Moore County’s stand out performers in defence.
4. Che Cullen (Fermanagh)
Fermanagh secured a first win of the Ryan McMenamin era at the expense of Roscommon at Brewster Park.
5. Karl O’Connell (Monaghan)
O’Connell’s second-half goal put down a large deposit on the Farney County’s impressive win over Tyrone in Castleblayney.
6. James McCarthy (Dublin)
The Ballymun Kickhams ace raised two white flags in the sky blues’ 1-11 to 0-8 victory over 14-man Mayo in Castlebar.
7. Ciaran Brady (Cavan)
After the disappointment of their round 1 no-show against Armagh, Cavan restored pride to the jersey and Brady kicked three points in the win over Westmeath.
8. John O’Loughlin (Laois)
The powerful midfielder delivered a commanding performance in the six-point success over the Orchard County.
9. Patrick O’Connor (Sligo)
The Yeats County captain found the target with six points (three from play) against Antrim on home turf.
10. Ryan McHugh (Donegal)
The Donegal dynamo wore the number 11 jersey but covered every blade of grass on the Pairc Tailteann pitch.
11. Conor McCarthy (Monaghan)
The Scotstown clubman took the scoring honours with 0-4 against the visiting Red Hands.
12. Ciaran Corrigan (Fermanagh)
Capped a performance full of industry against the Rossies with the match-winning point in stoppage time.
13. Keelan Sexton (Clare)
The Kildare defence struggled to cope with Sexton who raised four white flags in Ennis.
14. Shane Walsh (Galway)
The Galway captain can consider himself unfortunate to have finished up on the losing side in Tralee – his second-half goal was a thing of beauty!
15. Paul Geaney (Kerry)
Geaney’s 71st minute strike was vital as Peter Keane’s side snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.
