Dominic Corrigan was elated after guiding St Michael's, Enniskillen to their first-ever Hogan Cup on Saturday.

It was a case of third time lucky for the Fermanagh school who had lost two previous finals, the most recent of which was to St Mary's, Edenderry in 2012.

"We have strived and fought hard all those years, but to have ended up with the Holy Grail today of the All-Ireland Colleges' A title, we're in heaven," he enthused following the thrilling 1-12 to 1-11 victory over Naas CBS at Croke Park.

"We're in heaven and I will tell you what, if heaven when we depart this earth is anything like this here, I will want to go there.

"There is something special about colleges' football, something special about winning MacRory Cups. Today, as I say, I am in heaven. Nothing, nothing beats this.

"An All-Ireland title to Fermanagh. It is going to be very proud, going to be very emotional. I am going to have to contain myself because there has been long hours, serious time and work put into it over the years and the fact we get our hands on it today and the players asked me to go up and receive the cup, which is a nice touch from them.

"I was happy to do it. It was very special."
