On reflection, Fermanagh manager Rory Gallagher feels that there has been many positives to take from their FL2 campaign.

The Erne County were just 70 minutes away from FL1 football, but they were beaten in their last two matches (Armagh and Meath).

Nonetheless, Gallagher has been pleased with the campaign and he told the Fermanagh Herald that they have learned a lot from the league.

“It’s been a very good league for us, even with the two defeats. I’d be disappointed with the Armagh game, not so much against Meath as I think they were the better team,” said Gallagher.

He added: “It’s been a very good league with an awful lot of good learnings. Expectations change and we as a management team would pride ourselves on being ambitious.

“While, we’re satisfied to stay in the division, it’s tinged with disappointment that we didn’t get over the line in the last two games. We wanted to win the game and that was our focus.”
