Fermanagh defender Kane Connor believes that they can learn from their defeats to Donegal and Kildare this year.

In an otherwise positive year, Fermanagh struggled against Division One sides Donegal (Ulster SFC final) and Kildare (SFC Qualifiers), although they did beat Monaghan in the provincial campaign.

The step up in class was a bridge too far for Rory Gallagher's charges and Connor states in the Fermanagh Herald that they must learn from those type of games.

"We've had a fine year with promotion to Division 2 and reaching the Ulster final, but I suppose the two defeats to Donegal and Kildare will hurt us and it shows us what is needed to get up to pace with the bigger counties," said Connor.

"We didn't start the Kildare game the way we wanted and when we conceded the early goal and then a number of points we were then immediately playing catch up.

"I'll just probably watch back the game on TV and try and see what we could have improved on, and then take my mind off football for a while."
