Diarmuid Connolly has spoken about the controversial incident that saw him pull Westmeath's James Dolan to the ground in a headlock.

The Dublin vice-captain received a yellow card for his actions during Sunday's Leinster SFC final, which resulted in a mini melee involving players from both sides, with Lake County manager Tom Cribbin since confessing that Connolly had been targeted.

However, the Dubs attacker says he acted out of frustration rather than to any provocation from his opponents: "I think the referee dealt with it there and then. I was a bit frustrated, but look, that's part and parcel of the game as well," the St Vincent's ace told RTE.

"It was a yellow card offence. I don't think [goading] was a factor, I was just more frustrated with how I was playing myself and that's what happened."
