Another Euro 2016 fixtures clash

June 23, 2016

Northern Ireland Manager Michael O'Neill

There's another potential conflict of interests as two more of this weekend's championship matches are colliding directly with Northern Ireland's last-sixteen tie.

Michael O'Neill's charges do battle with Wales at the Parc des Princes in Paris at 5pm on Saturday, seeking to seal an unlikely place in the quarter-finals.

The game starts at the same time as the Round 1B SF Qualifier between Fermanagh and Wexford at Wexford Park and the replayed Christy Ring Cup decider between Antrim and Meath at Croke Park.

Given Northern Ireland's strong ties with both northern counties involved and the precedent that has been set by Leinster Council in switching the throw-in times for Sunday's Leinster SFC semi-finals due to a clash with the Republic of Ireland's meeting with France, one could be forgiven for asking should the GAA consider further time changes this weekend.
