Jim Gavin cited Aidan O'Mahony's red card as the turning point in today's Allianz Football League final.

Dublin took full advantage of the 50th minute dismissal to overpower Kerry's 14 men for a 2-18 to 0-13 victory.

"There is no doubt it had an impact," the Dublin manager acknowledged.

"That game was as close to championship pitch as you'd get. When you lose a man you are immediately under stress because there is spaces being opened up that can be exploited by the opposition.

"That said,  I thought we were beginning to get some control of the game at that particular point.  There is no doubt it did impact on Kerry's performance."

Gavin was understandably delighted with Dublin's feat in completing an historic four-in-a-row of Irish National Insurance Cups.

"When we are representing our county we want to be the best that we can be.  They are a very focused group of men.  They demonstrate a selflessness week in, week out for their county," he added.
