Dublin hurler Liam Rushe has had his two-match ban reduced after appealing to the Central Hearings Committee, The Irish Examiner reports.

Rushe was originally cited by the Central Competition Control Committee's for striking Waterford's Maurice Shanahan at the end of the last month's All-Ireland quarter-final at Semple Stadium.

However, the CCCC agreed in front of the CHC that the Palmerstown man should have been penalised for striking with minimal force, which has saw the suspension halved.

Dublin lost the game to Waterford 2-12 to 1-19 in Thurles, before the Deise men exited to Kilkenny in the semi-finals.
