Fines of €5,000 each have been proposed for Dublin and Armagh by the CCCC following an incident in a recent challenge match which left Dublin's Davy Byrne with a broken nose.

Byrne spent two nights in hospital after the flashpoint which occurred before the start of the game at DCU.

According to the Irish Independent, the CCCC could not find evidence of any wrongdoing against any player in their investigation, and have opted to impose fines on both counties instead.

It remains to be seen if the counties will appeal the sanction to the Central Hearings Committee.
